I'm getting close!

I'm getting closer to my goal, and I'm also getting close to my departure date. I leave on January 17, and I am so excited!

Fundraising Update

This is our current total. In order to reach our goal, we need an average of $100 per week until the last payment is due in November. Thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far.

Fundraising Yard Sale

Thanks to everyone who donated items and/or their time, the fundraising yard sale was a huge success. We had it yesterday and made over $500. I am now working on my fourth and final payment. Thanks again to everyone who helped me!

I've been busy...

I have been getting cans and yard sale stuff together, and I completely forgot to update my blog. Our garage and family room both are almost filled with yard sale stuff.

Possible Free/Almost Free Airfare to D.C.

I found a promotion where I can get round trip airfare to any where in the United States for free. The only catch is that I have to get 12,000 MyCokeRewards points before they run out of free tickets. If you have any unredeemed MyCokeRewards points please send them to me. Selling Scrap

Today we sold the scrap metal. I got a little more than $30 from selling it. I went with my grandfather.
Thank you to everyone who donated metal and made it possible for me to sell this and get the money for my trip.

Hi again!

I will be able to make my first payment for my trip, but I still need to fundraise for travel costs and the rest of the tuition.

Things have been going well with the fundraising I am really starting to get some responses from the fundraising letters and e-mails I have sent out. We will soon be going to cash in on the scrap metal we have collected.

For the past few days...

On Friday, my family and I went to the area of Pass Christian/Kiln. We picked up some scrap metal to sell for my trip. The picture to the left is myself and one of my brothers with the people who gave us the scrap metal. Thanks ya'll!

On Saturday, we started working on crushing cans, etc. to be able to sell them. Mom and I also continued working on the handicrafts and gift items we are selling. (On a side-note we finally re-unearthed our kitchen table from all the shells and craft supplies!)

We really didn't do anything trip-related today.
